Spring Sports Weekly Recap April 18-24

Men’s Lacrosse

Jesuit faced competition from Eastlake, WA on Friday, but the Crusaders were able to cruise to a 21-5 win. Junior and emerging leader Jack Duncan-Bloom led the team with 4 goals, which was the most on the team. Jesuit face Sunset and Westview on Tuesday and Thursday this week with both games being held on Cronin Field. 

 

Women’s Lacrosse

On Tuesday April 19th, the Crusaders faced off against OES. Jesuit came into halftime down by 3 goals, but were able to tie the game within the first couple minutes in the second half before pulling away to win 17-11. The Crusaders followed suit with a 17-12 win against a tough Grant team on Thursday. 

 

Baseball

Jesuit went 2-1 the past week in a tripleheader versus Mountainside. The Crusaders started the week with a very tight 0-1 loss at home. They rebounded two days later with a hard fought 4-1 win and followed suit on Friday with a commanding 7-1 win. These wins moved Jesuit to #1 in Metro League sitting at 7-2 in league play and 14-3 overall. 

 

Softball

Jesuit began league play going 2-2 this past week. The games were highlighted by senior Georgia Corey, a Columbia commit, hitting 2 HRs in back to back game days and hitting 9/12 on the week. The Crusaders began the week with close losses at home versus Southridge 5-8, and away in a nail-biter against Mountainside 10-11.  Freshman Sam Blachly hit a HR against Sunset in a 10-4 win over Sunset, and the Crusaders were able to close the week with a comfortable 9-0 win versus Aloha behind a no-hitter from senior Ainsley Davis

 

Men’s Track and Field

Jesuit men’s and women’s track and field teams won in a close competition at home Wednesday afternoon versus Mountainside. Some standout times from the contest are below via (https://www.athletic.net/TrackAndField/meet/449140/results)
