On Tuesday, October 1st, the women’s soccer team faced the Lakeridge Pacers in a high scoring match. After having over a week off from games, the last being a 4-0 win against Glencoe.
The Crusaders came out in a 4-4-2 offensive style, which quickly broke down the Pacers, with Marian Dunne scoring within the first two minutes. The Crusaders kept great possession which led to their second goal being scored by sophomore Natalie Webber, assisted by senior Hanna Slama.
“The team connection has been really good especially when we all build off of each other and support each other on and off the field” Webber said.
The Pacers kept a tight game, by scoring just after Jesuit, but it was a fight to stay ahead. Jesuit continued their scoring streak with freshman Estelle Lee. She scored her first goal of the season, in which she received a through ball and finished to the far post.
Jesuit showed patience under defensive pressure from Lakeridge, by maintaining possession and staying calm with the ball, even after the Pacers scored. With that mentality their next goal was soon to come, Marian Dunne scored her second goal of the night in the —— minute.
To finish off the second half, sophomore Riley Weaks finished a ball off a corner kick, leading to another win for Jesuit with the final score being 5-3 against the Lakeridge Pacers.
