On Friday December 6th, Jesuit is having a drive-in movie night in the valley parking lot for seniors. Did you know about it?
Jesuit’s school calendar listed a “senior dance” event taking place on Friday. There hasn’t been much news on what this event is, only an instagram post with some details about where and when.
Activities Director Ms. Lakey clarified what is taking place on Friday.
“There was some miscommunication because on the calendar it says senior dance but when we sent out the form to pick which senior event to do, the drive-in movie night won. I think we’re just trying to change the culture and create an event for seniors to choose something they would all enjoy doing together,” Ms. Lakey said.
Joseph Penna from student government is involved with organizing this senior event and shared why it’s important.
“We do a senior event every year to help build the senior community and this year is a drive in movie night, the most highly voted when we sent polls out to the senior class,” Penna said.
The movie will start at 9pm and will be projected on a large inflatable screen. It is taking place at such a late time as it’s meant to be a place for seniors to come to after the basketball game at Jesuit against Lake Oswego.
Students will be able to listen to the movie by connecting their car speakers to the radio channel the movie will be on.
Student government suggests students bring snacks and lots of blankets and pillows to be able to lay comfortably in the back of cars but limit having cars on the whole time.
“There will be free Chick-fil-A nuggets and fries for students to take back to their cars in Valley and eat while they watch the movie,” Ms. Lakey said.
