The number three ranked Jesuit Crusaders are opening up their playoff series Wednesday October 29, 2025 with a game against Lake Oswego Lakers.
After defending their state title for two years in a row, the Crusaders are the team to beat. With a 22-3 record, not dropping a single game in the state of Oregon, they are looking to keep their in-state streak all the way.
Jesuit volleyball wrapped up their regular season October 23 going 12-0 in the metro league. The Crusaders also led metro with all league rewards.
Senior outside hitters Sadie Ross and Jada Johnson, senior libero Kiana Johnson, senior setter Zola Zuccolo, and junior middle Alex Douglas all made first team all league. Sophomore defensive specialist Cecily O’Sullivan made second team all league. Senior Sadie Ross also was named metro-league player of the year.
With those amazing accolades it’s clear Jesuit’s roster is filled with such talent. Junior middle blocker Alex Douglas shares the team’s depth beyond talent.
“Our connectedness and sisterhood keeps us together and allows us to push through those hard moments and ultimately be successful” Douglas said.
The Crusaders main challenges on their side of the bracket is looking to be #2 South Salem, #7 South Eugene, and #10 Westview High School. On the other half of the bracket, teams that may pose a challenge are #1 Sprague, #4 Sheldon, and #5 Nelson High School.
“I’m excited to go into playoffs to see what we can do, especially because this is my last year and it would be great to end my senior season with a big win and 3-peat,” senior Zola Zuccolo shared.
With playoffs and state coming up will our Jesuit Crusaders be able to pull off the 3-peat? Will they come out on top for a third year in a row? Will Coach Zimmerlee break the record for most state wins this year?
Jesuit volleyball plays their first round game home against Lake Oswego, Wednesday October 29 at 6:45, in Knight Gym.
