The stage is set for a thrilling showdown as Jesuit looks to claim another OSAA 6A state championship.
Jesuit returns to the OSAA 6A state championship on Saturday, November 15 at 6:30 p.m. at Hillsboro Stadium after a dominant 5-2 semifinals win over #4 Beaverton. Earlier in the season, the Crusaders traveled to Beaverton and earned a strong 6-1 victory, setting the tone for their postseason run.
Their upcoming matchup against West Linn adds even more weight to the final, given the long history between the two programs. Jesuit and West Linn faced off in the 2022 state championship, where Jesuit secured a 1-0 win. In 2023, the teams met again in the quarterfinals, with West Linn advancing after a tense penalty kick finish, 1-0, backed by a standout performance from senior goalkeeper Nyamma Nelson. Last year, the Crusaders and Lions met in the semifinals, where Jesuit pulled out a close 1-0 victory. Now, the two teams meet once again, this time on the biggest stage.
Jesuit has not played West Linn yet this season, setting up a fresh and unpredictable matchup for the championship game. After winning the state championship in 2022 and again in 2024, the Crusaders are aiming for a back-to-back championship and their third title in four years.
The players know this championship isn’t just another game, it’s a chance to leave their mark and finish the season strong. Senior Maeve Thomas shared how meaningful this last game feels for the group:
“I am feeling very excited to play in the championship game this year. It will be a good game to play and watch. I can’t wait to play one last time with my teammates.”
Beyond their talent, the Crusaders credit their success to how they’ve prepared throughout the fall. Practices have been intense, and the team has leaned on both returning players and new contributors to push the standard higher.
“Our team is very excited and we feel prepared from our training the whole season. We have been working really hard on and off the field and we have really come together as a tight group this year. Everyone gets along which I think also contributes to our success we’ve had so far,” said senior Ana Kubiaczyk.
With history and momentum on their side, Jesuit is ready to give it their all in the final. Don’t miss the action on Saturday, November 15 at 6:30 p.m. at Hillsboro Stadium!
