Every year a new high school class graduates, for the class of 2026 they’ve seen the class of 2023, 2024, and 2025 leave. Now it’s finally their time.
The last month of school is seen with mixed emotions from many, including the infamous burnout or senioritis. Many people focus on the term senioritis and ask questions pertaining to the feeling of being done with high school.
What emotions are always seen, but not always talked about is excitement and gratitude, and with two weeks left of school this feeling is definitely in the air.
When asked about what senior “lasts”, meaning what last high school event seniors are looking forward to the most, the answers were nothing but joyful and positive.
For senior Idaho volleyball commit Zola Zuccolo, she’s excited for her last Jesuit High School Dance.
“I’m most excited for prom and the opportunity to have a good time with all of my friends,” Zuccolo shared.
Noah Khan, a senior on Men’s Lacrosse who will be attending Gonzaga University, is looking forward to one last playoff season with his team.
“I’m excited because we’ll be playing some competitive teams where we can try to reclaim the state title,” Khan stated.
Jesuit, which is a college prep school, is often known for setting up students for academic success, but for the class of 2026 academics weren’t all Jesuit gave.
Senior Jordan Hernandez who will be attending Pepperdine University, is grateful for those she met along the way.
“I’m grateful for my friends because they always make me feel welcomed and always make me laugh,”Hernandez said.
Senior Jaden Hedges, a University of Puget Sound football and track commit, who transferred to Jesuit sophomore year, is grateful for the opportunities Jesuit gave him.
“I’m grateful for Jesuit’s DEI office and their programs that give financial aid. Jesuit also gave me more room for growth with athletics and academics which was different from Hawaii,” Hedges shared.
The question most students are asked to reflect upon: how are you feeling knowing that high school is coming to an end?
“I feel really relieved and excited for my next steps going into college,” said senior Caycee Bardos, a Pacific Lutheran soccer commit. “I also have a lot of gratitude for Jesuit because they prepared and set me up well for the future.”
After four educational years at Jesuit, it’s safe to say that this year’s seniors have been set up for success in the future.
The class of 2026 is set to graduate at the end of this month, on May 31st at 11am on Cronin Field.
