Emma Barbar is a curious, talkative, adventurous, and easygoing Junior at Jesuit. She was born and raised in Portland, Oregon and has gone to Catholic school her whole life. She lives with her mom, dad, and younger sister who is a freshman at Jesuit this year. Her and her sister share interests in listening to music, clothing, and sharing funny videos they find with each other . Emma has been interested in photography and short video content for a few years. She is impressed with the special effects, music, and different aspects people see of players in Jesuit Media photo and videography. Another reason she wanted to take Fundamentals of Media is her love for watching NBA games and reading news stories. She hopes to make articles like ones made about sports teams, but for ones at Jesuit. She looks forward to experimenting with content like journalism, news, promo reels, and shows. She wants to expand her creativity, confidence of public speaking, and attention to detail. She aims to make entertaining articles with timely topics, quality photos, and share her own opinions. Outside of school, Emma can be seen playing club basketball, doing various forms of exercise, shopping, cooking, hanging out with friends, and going on trips with her family. Emma is eager to see what goes into media shoots, plan projects, and become more independent. Emma’s top values are gratitude, humility, cooperation, and productivity. She is unsure of the challenges and experiences that this year will bring, but is ready to face them to better herself and skills.
