Hazel Mackey is a junior at Jesuit High School and is excited to begin her first year in Fundamentals of Media. She chose to apply to the program because from a young age, she enjoyed recording and editing short films with her friends and discovered a passion for creative storytelling. Hazel has also developed a strong interest in sports media, particularly in capturing games through photography and video. Growing up in Portland, Oregon, she has been exposed to many different forms of media that have inspired her. Outside the classroom, Hazel is a dedicated athlete. She plays on the Varsity Women’s Lacrosse team and hopes to continue competing at the collegiate level. In the fall, you can find Hazel running around the Jesuit campus for the cross country team. Beyond athletics, Hazel loves spending time outdoors. Whether it’s swimming, hiking, skiing,or baking and relaxing with friends.
