A senior at Jesuit High School, Julie Awad is going into her first year of Advanced Media after taking the Photography and Graphic Design course last year. She is excited to explore the world of media and journalism, as well and further her photography skills this year. Leading both Arab American club and Mixed & Multicultural (M&M) Club, Julie hopes to highlight the diversity of Jesuit’s community and advocate for student’s voices through her work in Advanced Media. Outside of school, she spent ten years dancing ballet, and is now one of the leaders of a traditional Chinese dance team. In addition to traveling around the world with a very touristy family, Julie likes to hop around local cafes and thrift stores and can probably be found camped out at a cafe with a book or a friend. With a mom from China and a dad from Lebanon, Julie hopes to advance her photography skills so she can capture the beauty of both their hometowns and communities on camera someday.
