Among several returning players for the volleyball team is Sloan Hefeneider, setting the ball here in a 2022 match.

As the Crusaders enter this season, it is very easy to see that they are wanting revenge from the season ending loss in the state championship last year.

Jesuit had three games so far this season, starting off 3-0. They did start the season playing a tough Sherwood Bowmen team, but pulled away from that game, winning 3-1.

Coming into the game against the Skyhawks, Jesuit started off strong with the first set winning 25-17. Not giving up, the Skyhawks continued to fight back throughout the second set, but eventually Jesuit pulled away eventually winning 25-18. Entering the third set, the Crusaders were determined to show everyone that they are still the best team in the state. Finding their momentum as a younger team with only three seniors, they swept the Skyhawks 25-8. Sophomore Sadie Ross had a tremendous third set with her serving run, leading the team to victory.

Julia Paulson is excited about the upcoming season.

“I think this upcoming season will go well,” Paulson said. “But there’s definitely areas for improvement [and] I’m excited to see where the season takes us.”

The Crusaders have a jamboree this weekend at Central Catholic where they will continue their winning streak as they progress throughout their season.
