The volleyball team takes on Sunset in a Metro League match on Thursday, September 13th at the Knight Gym at Jesuit High School

On September 14, the Jesuit Crusaders volleyball team takes on the Sunset Apollos in a highly anticipated Metro League matchup in Knight Gym.

Jesuit is off to a hot start this year, looking to complete the journey after suffering a state championship loss in the 2022 season to Sheldon. Seniors Lilly Lansing, Tiana Takayama, and Emma Williams look to be leaders of a young Jesuit team this season.

Junior Julia Paulson has seen the growth from last year in their strong 8-1 start to the season.

“I am happy with how we are doing as a team these past weeks, but there are definitely still some areas to improve on,” Paulson said. “Every practice we are working on skills to help us perform better which will help us in our upcoming games.”

With an experienced coach in Ms. Zimmerlee, Jesuit is prepared for Thursday’s matchup.

Sunset has also had a fantastic start to the season, going 9-1 in their first ten games, but coming off of a tough loss to the Grant Generals. Currently ranked #2 on OSAA’s state rankings, Sunset will look to steal the number 1 spot from the Crusaders.

Tune in to JCTV at 6:45 to watch your Jesuit Crusaders take on the Sunset Apollos in a game that will be a main factor in determining the Metro League champion.
