On Saturday, April 8, 2024, Men’s Lacrosse took on the West Linn Lions at West Linn High School.

The Crusaders started off strong with goals from juniors Brady Bayne and Thatcher Killian, as well as from senior Christian Buck. The score was 4-0 at the start of the second quarter.

After a second period flurry, the score was 10-0 at half.

A frequent scorer in the game, with 4 goals, junior Deuce Bechtold, mentioned how the Crusaders had such a big lead.

”The offense was playing fast, how we were supposed to play and our coach put out really good game plan and we executed it well,” Bechtold said.

In the 2nd half, Porter Mackiel had 2 goals, while Luke Bayne, Mackie Mackiel, and Deuce Bechtold added 1 goal, making the score 15-0.

“Going into the game, I think we wanted to hold West Linn scoreless. We wanted to get going on offense really quickly, which we unfortunately were unable to do but we cleaned it up later in the game and we wanted to dominate at the face off X,” said junior Thatcher Killian.

The last couple minutes of the 4th quarter, Mackie Malkiel and Ryan Jack scored, ending the game with a victory for the Crusaders.

Final score: Jesuit 18, West Linn 0.
