An exciting game is under way on May 20th, as the OSAA #4 Jesuit Baseball squad (19-9) will take on OSAA #29 Sheldon (11-16) for the first round of the high school baseball postseason. The game will be held at Sprunk stadium at 5 pm.

The winner of tonight’s game will play the winner of Grant (20th) versus Sandy (13th) in the second round of the playoffs.

Mickey McClaskey (‘26) will be tonight’s starting pitcher for the Saders. McClaskey hopes to take down the Irish with his electric fastball and off-speed pitches will seek to shut out the Irish and keep Jesuit’s playoff hopes alive.

Sheldon’s favored pitcher, Nolan Miller, is a player to keep an eye on for the Irish. He leads the team with most pitches thrown and is also dominant on the plate. Miller plays outfield, and according to Max Preps, his batting average is .375.

Sheldon high school is a part of the Southwest conference and their league record is 6-12. Their performance put them at 6th in their league. Grants Pass (17th) leads the conference with a league record of 12-6, and an overall of 14-10.

The Metro League this year has been very competitive with a dominant Sunset squad on the rise. The Crusaders ended their Metro League season 3rd, with a league record of 12-6. The OSAA #3 Sunset Apollos remain number one in the league, with the OSAA #6 Westview Wildcats trailing right behind them.
