Women’s Soccer takes on McNary at Jesuit this Saturday, November 1st, at 2:00pm.
They are entering the 2025 playoffs as defending 6A OSAA champions, after beating Grant Women’s Soccer 2-1 in last year’s championship match. The win marked Jesuit’s 16th State Championship win since their first in 1994.
Senior Maeve Thomas, defender for the team, said their “expectation is to make it to the state final just like we did last year.”
“Our team’s mindset does not change going into playoffs,” Thomas said. “We have always said no one out works us and that stays the same in playoffs. We need to play simple and fast like we always do and I’m confident in our ability to make it to finals.”
Throughout this season, they have remained undefeated, maintaining a winning streak with the exception of a 0-0 draw with Grant earlier this season. Their last regular season game ended in a 9-1 victory against Aloha on October 22nd.
Thomas, in her last year playing for Jesuit, said that she is “excited to play against teams we haven’t faced yet and to play with all my teammates.”
Currently ranked OSAA’s number 1 with a record of 14-0-1 this season, women’s soccer will take on number 40 ranked McNary High school on Saturday. The winner of that game will go on to play either St. Mary’s Academy or Westview.
