The Jesuit Crusaders (18-7) host the Lakeridge Pacers (10-14) at 7 p.m. Tuesday in Knight Gym as the postseason begins, with the team riding an 10-point road victory and senior leadership pushing for a deep playoff run. Jesuit ended their league play with a 9-3 record. The Crusaders are looking to make a great run heading into the post season.
The Pacers are going into the post season with a 10-14 record, with a 3-7 Three Rivers League record. They are coming off a loss to Oregon City, but they are not to be underestimated.
The seniors on the team are hoping to make a long run this post season before their highschool careers come to an end. The team has been coming together ready for what's next.
“We have been coming together through team meals and team bonding experiences. The season is about to end and we have a great group of seniors that are ready to end this season on the right note,” senior Max Sharp said.
Over the last couple Metro games the team has shown what they can do when they play together. They have been moving the ball well and making the right plays. Together they have a lot of momentum going into the post seasons and it can be seen from some fans.
“The pulse in the Knight gym is going to be high. We are going to do our best to make the Lakeridge boys feel that pressure. I have seen it all year that our boys at Jesuit are calm under pressure, and pressure makes diamonds, and this is where we shine!” senior student section leader Jacob Gorman said.
The atmosphere for the Crusaders has been very fun and very loud, with a great example of that being at the road game against Beaverton. The Beavers packed the house with fans and students, but the Jesuit crowd was even louder. They were a statement point on how the Crusaders won that game.
The men’s Jesuit basketball team is looking very good going into the post season. The boys have been playing very well and are hoping to bring their momentum all the way to the Chiles Center.
The Crusaders play at 7:00 PM on Tuesday in Knight gym. If they win they will play on Friday at home.
