For Charlotte Gaston, Drama Club Is More Than Performance
Junior Charlotte Gaston has found her people.
Every Wednesday at 3 p.m., she joins dozens of students in the choir room for Drama Club, where the shy become bold and members are unapologetically themselves.
For members like Gaston this is not just a club, this is a community where authenticity is encouraged and accepted.
Gaston has found confidence and self-expression through her time in the club. For Gaston, Drama Club has been an outlet for personal growth.
“Being able to be on stage has been able to help me grow as a person who is not afraid to be themselves,” she shared.
Her love for performing and willingness to step outside of her comfort zone show how supportive the club’s environment is.
Charlotte’s close friend, Maeve Jensen, also a junior, spoke highly of her and the positive energy she brings to the group.
“Charlotte brings a wonderful sense of humor and light and joy,” Maeve said.
Students encourage one another both off and on the stage, creating a space where everyone feels valued.
What truly sets the Drama Club apart is how open and welcoming it is to all its students, regardless of grade or experience. Whether someone has been performing for years or is joining the club to experience new things, the club greets each student with encouragement and joy.
Jesuit’s Drama club is a place where creativity thrives and students feel accepted. With passionate members like Gaston, the club continues to be a space where laughter and growth flourish. For students wanting to try something new, make new friends, or discover a new passion, Drama Club offers exactly that.
