Preview Women's Lacrosse Seattle Trip
Coming off a dominant start to the season, Jesuit women’s lacrosse team will travel to Seattle on May 2nd to face Mercer Island and Eastside Catholic.
Mercer Island has had a less dominant season so far, but still poses a competitive challenge. Eastside Catholic, however, enters the match with a perfect record and will utilize that momentum to serve as a serious test for the also undefeated Jesuit.
Eastside Catholic’s offense is led by top scorers Regan Walters ‘26, a Rollins College commit, and Molly Hamilton ‘26, who have each scored 40 goals this season. Close behind is Leighton Wagner ‘27, the University of Vermont commit, with 28. Jesuit's leading scorer, Izzy Tamerlano ‘27, also has 28 goals, despite Jesuit having played one fewer game than Eastside.
In goal, Jesuit’s Lanie Knight ‘26 has recorded a 41.8% save percentage, while Eastside Catholic’s Natalie Stevens ‘27 holds a 54.5% save percentage, giving Eastside an edge defensively.
Jesuit defender Claire Comstock ‘27, also a University of Vermont commit, said she is “looking forward to playing some good competition outside of Oregon.” Jesuit has won both the state and Metro League titles the past four years, and facing out-of-state opponents gives them opportunities to grow their skills.
The Crusaders will take on Mercer Island and Eastside Catholic with both matchups offering an early look on how the team matches up with out-of-state competition.
