New Faculty Spotlight: Bryce Gillespie, Athletic Trainer

Bryce Gillespie is a new athletic trainer and he will be providing sports medicine coverage for Jesuit athletes. He has been an athletic trainer for 14 years and he previously worked at Canby High School and Wilsonville High School.

“I am providing all the sports medicine coverage for all the athletic events and taking care of all the injured athletes,” Gillespie said.

Bryce was on NBC when he was covering the Olympic Trials. 

“The best piece of advice I have gotten is, ‘Everyday you’re either getting better, or you’re not,’ so you have to make a choice each day on where you want to go,” Gillespie said.

He wants to help all the student athletes and take care of them as much as possible.

How long have you worked in this field?

This will be my 14th year.

 

Where did you work prior to Jesuit?

Prior to starting at Jesuit I worked at Canby High School, Wilsonville High School, and then I currently run my own company.

 

What will you be doing this year at Jesuit?

I am providing all the sports medicine coverage for all the athletic events and taking care of all the injured athletes.

 

What excites you about working here?

Continuing to help all the student athletes and taking care of the kids as much as possible.

 

What is something the community should know about you?

I’ve covered the Olympic Trials and was on NBC.

 

What is the best piece of advice you’ve ever received?
